Hello, and welcome to the Sussex Book Club

Dick Richardson Photo

If you are reading this, then you are probably a member. If not, then sign-up now. Printed newsletters are sent twice a year – spring/summer and autumn/winter.

We can also offer an on-line pdf which saves the club money on printing and postage, and is something I intend to develop as a magazine.

I welcome ideas from members – what would you like to see in the newsletters? It would be nice to include more information on Sussex and its history, so why not send me an article? Perhaps you are researching your family tree? You may not have a book in you but this could be just the place to showcase your research!

If you are writing or publishing a book on Sussex, please let me know – the Book Club is a great way to reach more readers.

Second hand books on Sussex. This is a feature I an introducing to the Sussex Book Club website. If you have any books for sale then please send details of title, condition, price etc., to info@sussexbooks.co.uk and your books will be listed with your email address. This is a FREE service to members only and all entries will be listed on the website.

This year's Book Club outing is to Rottingdean – a chance for us to meet and put names to faces! Next year we visit the Ditchling Museum of Arts & Crafts followed by a guided walk of the village. Postponed from this year as the museum undergoes a refurbishment. For those of you who cannot wait, it should reopen by October this year.

I should like to exrpess my sincere thanks to members and publishers for their support of the club – we cannot survive without you! If you think a friend or relative may be interested in joining please tell them about us.

Happy reading

Dick Richardson
